Our privacy promise

We use customer information to operate Vizik Farm Market, fulfil orders and provide communications the customer has requested or chosen. We do not treat acceptance of an order as permission to send unrelated marketing.

1. Who we are

Vizik Farm Market (“Vizik”, “we”, “us” or “our”) operates the website vizikfarmmarket.com and supplies farm produce and related products in Nigeria. For privacy questions, contact us using the details at the end of this policy.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Your name, email address and WhatsApp phone number.
  • Your delivery state, delivery address, preferred delivery date and order instructions.
  • Products, quantities, sizes or units requested, order reference, order status and associated communications.
  • Your separate email-marketing and WhatsApp-marketing choices and the dates those choices were recorded.
  • Technical information needed for security and website operation, such as server logs, device or browser information and IP address.
  • Cart information stored in your browser so your basket remains available between pages.

Please do not submit card PINs, passwords or other unnecessary sensitive information through order notes or WhatsApp.

3. How and why we use information

Order fulfilmentTo save your request, confirm availability and pricing, arrange delivery, provide status updates and respond to order questions.
Customer serviceTo answer enquiries, resolve complaints and maintain an accurate record of our relationship.
Optional marketingTo send product updates, seasonal availability and offers by email or WhatsApp only for each channel you separately choose.
Operations and securityTo maintain the website, prevent abuse, protect accounts, keep business records and comply with applicable obligations.

Where applicable, we rely on steps requested before entering an order, fulfilment of our agreement, our legitimate operational interests, compliance with legal obligations, or your consent. The basis used depends on the specific activity.

4. WhatsApp and email communications

Order-related WhatsApp messages

When you place an order, you ask us to use the WhatsApp number provided to discuss that order and its delivery. These communications may include confirmation, availability, final pricing, delivery arrangements and service messages. This is not consent to WhatsApp marketing.

Optional WhatsApp marketing

Product availability updates and offers on WhatsApp require a separate optional choice that is not preselected. Declining does not prevent checkout. Messages are prepared individually by staff and are not sent automatically. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP or contacting us.

Email marketing

Email marketing is optional and uses its own unselected checkbox. You may withdraw your choice at any time by using an unsubscribe link in an email or contacting us. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before it.

We may retain a minimal suppression record after an unsubscribe request so we do not accidentally add the address or number back to a marketing list.

5. When information may be shared

We may share only the information reasonably necessary with service providers supporting website hosting, databases, communications, delivery, security, analytics or professional advice. WhatsApp communications are also processed under WhatsApp/Meta’s applicable terms and privacy practices.

We do not sell customer personal information. If a service provider processes information outside Nigeria, we will take reasonable steps required for an appropriate transfer and protection.

6. How long we keep information

We keep information only for as long as reasonably required for the purpose collected, including completing orders, handling disputes, maintaining financial and operational records, enforcing agreements and meeting legal requirements. Marketing consent records are kept while the subscription is active and, where necessary, as a suppression record after withdrawal. Browser cart information remains on your device until it is cleared by you or the website.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information, including restricted CMS access, authenticated administration, encrypted website connections and controlled hosting access. No internet service can promise absolute security. Please contact us promptly if you believe your information or an order has been misused.

8. Your privacy rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to:

  • Confirm whether we process your information and provide access to it.
  • Correct incomplete or inaccurate information.
  • Delete information where there is no continuing lawful reason to keep it.
  • Restrict or object to certain processing, including direct marketing.
  • Withdraw consent where processing depends on consent.
  • Provide eligible information in a portable form.

We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. You may also raise a concern with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

9. Cookies and local browser storage

Our storefront uses browser storage for essential functions such as retaining your cart and checkout details on your device. We may also use strictly necessary cookies or similar technology for security and administration. If non-essential analytics or advertising technologies are introduced, we will update this notice and provide any required controls before using them.

10. Children

Our ordering service is intended for adults able to enter a purchase arrangement. We do not knowingly seek marketing consent from children. A parent or guardian should contact us if a child has submitted personal information without appropriate involvement.

11. Updates to this policy

We may update this policy when our services or legal obligations change. The latest version will appear on this page with an updated date. Material changes may also be highlighted on the website or communicated directly where appropriate.
